Woman leaves people horrified after admitting she doesn’t wash pyjamas every day

Woman leaves people horrified after admitting she doesn’t wash pyjamas every day

Who knew there were so many varying answers to how often you should wash your pyjamas...

How often do you wash your pyjamas?

Maybe once a week? Once a month? Or do you wash them after every single use?

Well, one woman has left people horrified after revealing how often she chucks her PJs in the machine every week.

And the number might surprise you.

"I need to know if people wear pyjamas, like, multiple nights in a row," said TikToker Allison Delperdang.

Allison indicated that it might be pretty common for kids to wear the same pyjamas for days on end, but continued: "I’ve worn these, like, three nights in a row. So I need to know if, like, as adults, we’re still doing that, or should I be literally making dirty clothes every single night?"

We think Allison's pyjama washing etiquette is pretty spot on. After all, isn't it a little bit OTT (nevermind not ideal for the environment) to be washing PJs every day?

But after watching Allison's video, some viewers seemed slightly horrified to learn she wasn't washing her pyjamas after every wear.

In response to Allison asking whether other people were wearing their pyjamas for days on end, one person responded: "No, because I am wearing them for 8+ hours, they just don't feel clean."

Another agreed, adding: "Always fresh every night. Also only use a towel once. Same with my kids."

"No! When you sleep you sweat. Why would I wear that again?" a third asked.

Thankfully, there were some people who agreed that every few days - or even a week - is fine.

"I wear them for like a week straight haha I hate doing laundry," one follower responded to Allison's video.

Another confused person asked: "Wait. There [are] people that DON'T wear PJs multiple nights in a row???"

In a similar debate, an expert has settled the argument on how often you should wash your bedding.

We spend a lot of time in bed, which is why the Bed Kingdom experts say you should wash and change your bed sheets once a week – or, at a push, every other week.

They said: "Once a week is a healthy balance between washing sheets regularly enough to avoid the build-up of bacteria, germs, and dirt, without being so often that it becomes hard to fit into your routine.

"Still, changing your bed sheets weekly can feel like a hassle, especially if you're busy with work, taking care of kids, or just keeping on top of daily chores. So why do you need to change your bedding this often?

"We lose a lot of fluid and body oils each night through sweating and respiration. We shed dead skin cells, and dirt rubs off our bodies as we toss and turn. These can build up over a week, making your bed sheets dirty and smelly. This can attract bacteria and fungi, which can cause various skin and health conditions."

Our washing piles are about to get a *lot* bigger.
