Netflix viewers 'need therapy' after watching new thriller starring Daisy Edgar-Jones

I'm sure many of us are in major need of some downtime following the festivities of the bumper bank holiday weekend.

And, what better way to wind down than cosying up on the sofa with some snacks for a wholesome little movie marathon.

If you, like me, find yourself tirelessly scrolling through Netflix to find the perfect flick to settle down to then look no further than this cracking mystery thriller starring Normal People's Daisy Edgar-Jones, which has just landed on the streamer.

Now, the film first hit our screens back in 2022 and is based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Delia Owens.

The story follows an abandoned, yet strong-willed, girl named Kya (Edgar-Jones) who raises herself into adulthood in a North Carolina marshland, becoming a naturalist in the process.

However, when there's a dead body found in the local town, she becomes the prime suspect and is tried for murder.

The flick also stars the likes of Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson and Michael Hyatt.

If you hadn't already guessed it, the film is none other than Where the Crawdads Sing.

Over the weekend (5 May), Where the Crawdads Sing finally dropped on Netflix and viewers are claiming they 'need therapy', after watching it with many others rushing to social media to share their verdicts.

One X, formerly Twitter, user penned: "Where the Crawdads Sing on Netflix is superb… loved the book too."

"If y'all haven’t watched Where the Crawdads Sing on Netflix please go watch it. It’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time," urged a second.

A third revealed: "Just watched Where the Crawdads Sing on Netflix. I need therapy now. Smfh."

"Just watched Where the Crawdads Sing??!?? Oh my f*cking god," quipped a fourth, while a fifth praised: "Where the Crawdads Sing on Netflix 10/10!!!"

"WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING HAS ME ON THE FLOOR I WON’T EVER MOVE ON," hit out a sixth while a seventh admitted: "Thought I'd make it a week without crying but I just watched Where the Crawdads Sing so there goes that goal."

Another warned: "Where the Crawdads Sing is lowkey gut-wrenching."

And a final Twitter user added: "Where the Crawdads Sing I did not expect that twist at the end."

Well, I know what I'll be watching tonight.
